Bupa Strategy Cascades
A scalable approach to leadership communication
CLIENT
01
The Challenge
Align a complex organisation through consistent, scalable communication.
Bupa needed to review the previous year’s achievements, explore future opportunities and set direction for the next twelve months — all while navigating a change in leadership. The message had to land clearly across a large, multi-site organisation with multiple divisions and audiences.
The challenge was to maintain consistent messaging and branding throughout, while making the best possible use of existing content and assets — ensuring clarity, relevance and value at every stage.
02
The Approach
A phased programme designed to scale without repetition.
We developed a cascading approach that laddered a company-wide leadership narrative into divisional leadership events, culminating in an all-company broadcast delivered over a three-month period. This structure allowed video and design assets to be reused and repurposed across the programme, maximising efficiency without diluting impact.
Each leadership event shared a unifying visual identity, built to be modular so the experience felt fresh even for those attending multiple sessions. LED video walls, large 4K monitors, bespoke wrapped graphics, light boxes, uplighters and moving heads created a premium environment supported by high-quality sound systems.
Video assets provided seamless transitions between sessions and acted as a consistent anchor across all events. Formats shifted fluidly between plenary sessions, panels, breakouts and evening entertainment — with on-site teams managing everything from rapid presenter changeovers to live bands, quizzes and evolving content throughout the day.
Messages and activations were tailored to each audience, reducing duplication and ensuring relevance at every stage.
The programme concluded with a broadcast designed and run like a TV show. Purpose-built studios, a branded opening ident, stings, digital graphics and an interactive online quiz created a polished, engaging experience. The show was mixed live with ad-style breaks and seamless transitions between studios, delivering a full broadcast-grade production.
03
The Outcome
Clear alignment, strong engagement and measurable reach.
More than 4,000 colleagues received a live briefing either in person or online, generating over 1,000 interactions during the programme. Replay sessions were available within 24 hours, doubling overall engagement and extending the life of the content.
The cascading format ensured messages landed clearly across the organisation, while the modular approach delivered consistency, flexibility and long-term value across a complex, multi-stage communications programme.
