The Challenge

Keep a distributed workforce aligned, informed and connected.

Microsoft UK needed a scalable way to communicate regularly with teams across the country, combining clear business updates with genuine interaction and a sense of community. The challenge was to create a repeatable format that worked for colleagues wherever they were based, while still allowing space for bigger moments that brought people together in person.

02

The Approach

Build a flexible broadcast model that could scale from monthly updates to flagship moments.

Working closely with Microsoft, we developed a consistent broadcast approach that supported a regular cadence of communication. Monthly digital livestreams were produced from our custom greenroom, using Teams as the ingest point for speakers and streamed into Teams Townhall and Viva Engage. These short, punchy updates were designed to keep teams aligned without overloading diaries.

From the outset, we established a clear graphic and branding system to ensure every broadcast felt consistent, repeatable and ready to deploy at pace. Alongside the monthly updates, we supported quarterly hybrid town halls that brought people into the room for deeper discussion, guest speakers and live audience Q&A — blending in-person energy with a strong online experience.

To kick off the year, the format scaled up into a high-energy dual-studio hybrid broadcast with a talk-show feel. A custom-designed set featured three presentation areas, supported by full sound, lighting and video. An audience team wall across three portrait LED screens enabled real-time interaction with selected remote contributors, while AI-powered questions, award moments and guest speakers kept the show moving at pace. Eight cameras captured the action across the main space and satellite studio, including a wireless camera that added movement and texture to the broadcast.

03

The Outcome

A sustainable communications framework that balances clarity with energy.

Microsoft UK now has a reliable, scalable broadcast model that supports both regular business updates and larger hybrid moments. Teams stay informed through consistent monthly touchpoints, while quarterly town halls and flagship broadcasts create shared experiences that build engagement and community — all delivered through a flexible production approach that can evolve alongside the business.
